Glenns Pens

SAILOR

Web Site: www.sailorpen.co.uk/

Inspired by a British Sailor who was visiting Mr. Kyogoro Sakata, in 1911 he founded the company Hiroshima, Japan becoming the first company to manufacture fountain pens in Japan.

The fountain pens are known for the quality of their nibs, which are made at the Sailor factory. Master nib designed Nobuyoshi Nagahara has over 60 years with Sailor Pens, and has trained his son, Yukio in the skills of nib design and production.

The regular line of nibs range from Extra Fine, Fine, Medium-Fine, Medium, Broad, Zoom and the Music widths. In addition to these, there is a line of nibs specific designed for the more exclusive line of pens that Sailor produces.

From the reports I have read, the Fine produces a finer line than pens produced in Europe and the Sailor Extra Fine is said to create a writing line that similar to some of the fine pens produced in the 1920's.
