Leonardo Furore Grande

 

Purple

I enjoy the Furore line of pens. The width of the pen is very comfortable in my hand. The oval ends of the cap and top of the body creates a very pleasing line for the eye. When the Grande line was released in 2020 I though this was not double good news about the line. I choose the rich beautiful purple resin for my Grande. No regrets.

The Pen Material

The pen is made from a rod of beautiful purple resin that has the full range of dark and highlights. Light really plays well on this pen.

The Size

The pen is an excellent size. Closed it measure 156 mm - longer than my M1000. The body and nib measures around 137 mm and the maximum diameter is 16.8 mm. It is a good sized pen.

Filling Mechanism

The pen uses the dependable Leonardo built piston fill ink mechanism. The piston pulls up a heft 1.5 ml of ink. So once you fill up and start writing you have a good load of ink.

Nib

My pen dates to 2020, Bock steel nib is very smooth, and the Stub 1.1 width leaves a good looking line of ink for each stroke.

The Clip

An attractive nib with a small roller at the end of clip in rhodium. Easy to clip into a shirt pocket is you that is where you carry your pen. This is the second version of the Leonardo clip. It is narrower and does not overwhelm the pen.

The Cap

The cap of the pen can impact the style and look of a pen. I feel the cap is well portioned to the body of the pen. I particularly like the smooth transition from the end of the cap to the body. A smooth surface to the hand. Two bands at the end of cap, and one ring where the cap meets the body.
